After a weekend full of inner city festivals, Live at Leeds, Hit the North and Sound City, we couldn't help but feel a little blue that some of the things we've been counting down to are now over.
However, the festival gods have answered our prayers. Liverpool Calling have just announced this absolutely stellar line up and restored all faith. This has insanely become one of the top festivals we're now looking forward this Summer.
So we thought we'd list the acts that we're most excited to catch whilst there (and recommend that you do too!)
The Wytches
Because you've just got to go see them. Simple
Sheafs
One of our favorite bands around, with a reputation for putting on the best live shows, talking from experience, you can't see Sheafs perform live enough!
Demob Happy
We discovered Demob Happy whilst at Live at Leeds, their performance on the Dr Marten's stage quickly made us big fans and we're eager to see them again.
False Heads
It's no secret that we just fucking love False Heads, no one goes more mental on stage than frontman Luke Griffiths. The loveliest boys creating the loudest tunes, they're absolutely smashing the game at the moment and their fan base is loyal and committed. Just go see them, even if it's just in the hopes of watching Luke dive onto Barney's drum kit.
Himalayas
We've heard so many good things about this band and we're dying to witness it for ourselves!
Avalanche Party
I mean, if these guys aren't already on your radar then what the hell are you doing?! Their live performances are much beloved and receive nothing but the highest praise. (photo by @modelDphoto)
Generation
Another band that we've not had the pleasure of seeing live yet but are itching to, unfortunately we missed these guys during their set at Kazoopa 2017 but we've stoked to finally have a chance to see the madness for ourselves!
Naked Six
We've lost count of how many times we've seen Naked Six live now, but they never fail to put on the best shows. We've got a lot of love for the tunes these boys are putting out!
Sauce
We first saw Sauce supporting Sheafs in Manchester earlier this year, we've been listening to their music a lot since then. We're looking forward to another chance to see them do their thing on stage again!
Emily Capell
Lastly but definitely not least, we absolutely can not wait to see Emily Capell live. We've seen so many videos on fan's social media pages that have made us completely fall in love with her voice and her beautiful guitar. A refreshing change to a lot of the music out there, Emily Capell is an absolute must for Liverpool Calling.
