ELK | EP Review

Hold on for a second… just breathe with me as I tell you that this guy only has 18 Facebook followers…. WHAT?! In a time where Facebook holds A LOT of influence, this is genuinely insane considering this seven track digital album is AMAZING.

With beautifully relaxing acoustic music, ELK deserves a lot more than what he has at the moment. A sense of serenity throughout the album allows for easy listening at anytime of the day, with so many nuances and magical sounds hidden within the tracks it’ll take a few listens to find them all! What I love about it is that it isn’t in your face or loud about showing any one part over the other, which is hard to accomplish usually.

Beginning with a short track named Seventeen, it starts as it means to continue. With ambiance pouring out of the seems, the acoustic bliss begins. The short describing a warm and melancholic relationship with himself and another just before fading away into Yue.
Reflecting on a past event whilst being very vague around the specifics of what happened, but surely longing for something more. The song seemingly echoing itself just as the lyrics can’t get away from the idea of being with someone else.

Each one of these songs has its own creativity. No two are necessarily close, but they are similar enough to flow into each other like water. I could go on about these lovely songs but I can’t really do them any justice. Just go listen and give this wonderful music the support it deserves.
