Marmozets | Gig Review

I’ve now seen Marmozets twice now, first time at Reading Festival back in 2016. I had no idea who they were, but my mate dragged me to the main stage and what happened then did not disappoint. Then I got the chance to shoot them at the Lemon Grove in Exeter. 2 Years on and now I know the band, I can say it is an experience I will never forget.

The amount of energy the band has is incredible. Keeping it up throughout the whole show, keeping the crowd hyped beyond belief. Becca (vocals) is always moving about the stage, keeping up with the flow of the audience whilst somehow blasting out her incredible voice. Jack (lead guitar) and Will (bass) keep it tight whilst jumping about the stage, Sam (rhythm guitar) joining in when he gets away from the mic and Josh (drums) will take any chance to stand on his drum kit and try and kick the crowd once the set is over.

They know how to get a crowd moving, opening up with Play, the title track of their second studio album Knowing What You Know. Once the crowd was hyped, they kept the energy flowing. Playing songs such as bangers from their first album The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets such as Is It Horrible, the mental Vibetech and calming it down with slow and smooth songs like Run With The Rhythm and Captivate You. With 600 people singing along you can’t help but enjoy it and go with the flow.

There’s not much else to say about Marmozets, other than if you get the chance to see them, take it, they put on one hell of a show!
